Why Quit Smoking

Simply because you can quit smoking.  It may not necessarily be easy to do but there has been a multitude of people who have already made the decision to quit smoking and have successfully done so.  A lot of people have used Vaping, to quit.  When you know what to expect you will position yourself for to be successful in your attempt to quit.  In addition to feeling better you will reap many other benefits from your decision to stop smoking, especially if you can enjoy Vaping by using E-Cigs.

Why Quit Smoking – Personal Health

The main reason people usually make the decision to quit smoking is centered on health issues.  While using electronic cigarettes is still relatively new and not approved by the government yet, we can safely say it is still better for you than regular analog cigarettes.  It is a known fact that smoking can cause lung cancer but it can do many other things as well to your health.

  • Various other cancers in addition to lung cancer
  • Emphysema and chronic bronchitis,
  • heart condition increasing risk for heart attack
  • peripheral vascular disease,
  • Increased risk for stroke
  • premature aging of the skin,
  • bad breath, bad smelling clothes and hair and yellowing of fingernails.
  • Increased risk during pregnancy including miscarriages and lower birth-weight babies

No matter how long you have smoked, when you quit smoking you will benefit from doing so.  If you stop smoking before age 35 you can actually prevent 90% of the health risk associated with smoking.  To quit smoking later in life, while still enjoying your Vaping, you will still provide benefits and reduce the risk of diseases associated with smoking.

Why Quit Smoking – Cost

In addition to improving your health and lower your risk for certain diseases another reason to quit smoking is the cost to smoke.   Smoking is an expensive habit and most people that smoke could use the money they spend for smoking for other things needed in their life.  The annual cost for the average smoker is estimated to be approximately 3,391 dollars, while vaping by using E-cigs, is about one fourth of that.  E-cigs are relatively inexpensive when compared to traditional cigarettes.

Calculate quickly how much you spend in a year smoking:  consider how much you spend in a day and multiply it by 365.   To look at how much you have already spent in your lifetime multiply the amount you spend per year by the number of years you have been smoking.   Surprised at the amount of money you might say you have simply burnt up?  Change that today by making a decision to quit smoking now.  Another reason for turning to Vaping…  (:

Still haven’t decided to quit smoking?   Let’s look at this another way,  take the amount you spend per year smoking and multiple it by 10 assuming you continue to smoke for the next 10 years.  Wow, that is a lot of money!   Just think that is money you have not spent yet, so if you decide to quit smoking today, just what could you do with that money?

This has only included the cost of the cigarettes not the additional cost of insurance and healthcare due to the effects of continuing to smoke.  What is Vaping good for?  Better health, money savings and convenience….  Stop smoking and start Vaping!  You will love it!

Atomizers and Cartomizers – Tips/Tricks

Atomizers and Cartomizers

So, learning and mastering atomizers and cartomizers is a MUST, if you are going to succeed in Vaping.  Below is excellent information about them and you will enjoy your Vaping experience much more.  Read and learn all about atomizers and cartomizers to enhance your Vape experience!

Refresher

As a quick refresher, electronic cigarettes weather using an atomizer or cartomizer produce vapor through the same method: heating e-juice (the liquid solution containing nicotine and flavoring) into a vapor which is then inhaled by the user.  The heating is done by a coil which is charged when current from a battery is applied.  Atomizers are a more mature technology than cartomizers.

Despite their maturity, as a generalization, there are fewer variations of atomizers as there are of cartomizers. Before the hardcore atomizer fans start beating me up in the comments, there are still a number of variations on this technology which I will explore more in depth as we move along.

While both atomizers and cartomizers should be regarded as consumable parts for electronic cigarettes, atomizers usually last much longer than cartomizers.  Cartomizers were originally designed as a single-use disposable piece for e-cigarette systems and had much fewer durable components than the typical atomizer.  Atomizers are part of a (usually) two-piece system.  The second piece of that system is typically either a cartridge, a tank or a drip tip.

Cartridges

Cartridge systems are fairly common in starter kit type electronic cigarettes.  Many long-time vapers started their journey with e-cigarettes that used a cartridge system.  A cartridge is a plastic tube that fits in (or over) the atomizer.

The typical cartridge contains an air channel and the cavity for e-juice storage.  The air channel allows air to flow past the atomizer coils and to the user through the hole in the end of the cartridge.  There are a number of drawbacks to the cartridge system.  Many basic electronic cigarettes do not wick very well.

This means that not enough juice is delivered to the atomizer’s heating element via the bridge from the filler material.  When the heating coil is not sufficiently wet with juice, this produces what’s known as a “dry hit.”  Dry hits have reduced vapor production, and often are accompanied by an unpleasant burning taste and throat irritation.

A number of users have tried several different things to improve the intake rate of e-juice into the atomizer by making some modifications like adding a spring to keep the filler pressed against the atomizer bridge or using blue foam from aquarium filters because of its superior wicking ability.

Besides wicking issues, cartridges also do not hold a lot of e-juice requiring frequent refilling or cartridge replacements. Refilling cartridges can also be messy, juice leakage is a common occurrence.  Using prefilled cartridges eliminates the mess, but they are not cost effective and typically have a much narrower selection than purchasing e-liquid separately.

Inside the cartridge is an area where the e-juice is typically stored.  Generally, inside that space is some sort of absorbent filler material.  The material touches the bridge of the atomizer when the cartridge is connected to the atomizer.  The filler holds the juice like a sponge and the suction created while puffing allows juice to transfer from the filling to the atomizer’s bridge.  This process is known as wicking.

Tank systems eliminate the issues associated with the filler-based e-cigarette cartridges.  Tank systems are still a two-piece setup consisting of an atomizer and a cartridge.  Instead of a bridge, the atomizer in a tank system uses a pin with wicking material running through it.  The pin is inserted through a hole in the tank cartridge and e-liquid is absorbed by the wick from the juice-filled reservoir in the tank.

They not only eliminate the filler material but are also available with much larger juice storage capabilities. Tanks range in size from .8ml in small cigarette sized models to 1.5ml and beyond in tank systems like the eGo-T and Innokin Lea electronic cigarettes.

Of course, they have their drawbacks as well.  Many users feel that the flavor in the vapor produced by these systems is not as intense as compared to other types of systems.  Some tanks suffer from leakage problems, and others do not wick very well which results in dry hits.

Direct Dripping

Dripping is a very popular method of applying e-liquid to the heating coil of an e-cigarette.  As the name implies, the user simply drips e-juice directly onto the bridge of the atomizer.  Usually, a drip tip is attached to the atomizer to keep the user’s lips from touching the hot atomizer and to allow a large enough passage to drip liquid onto the atomizer without having to remove a cartridge every few puffs.

Dripping is widely acknowledged to provide a superior experience in both flavor and vapor production among its proponents.  However, dripping is far more complex than the previous methods (or a cartomizer) because there is no cartridge to hold the e-liquid, the liquid must be reapplied frequently as it is consumed by the atomizer.

There is a fine art involved in learning how to initially “prime” an atomizer and how frequently re-application of juice is required.

If e-liquid is applied too infrequently, dry hits will be the result just like with any of the other methods.  Too much or too frequent application of e-juice will result in “flooding” the atomizer.  Flooding occurs when too much juice surrounds the coils rendering it unable to efficiently vaporize the liquid.

A flooded atomizer will typically produce less vapor and make a gurgling sound when puffed.  Flooded atomizers may also send hot droplets of liquid back towards the user’s mouth or leak e-liquid out the battery connector and on to the electronic cigarette battery.

Because of this risk of leakage, it is not recommended to drip with an automatic e-cigarette battery (these are the type that activate when a puff is taken as opposed to when a button is pressed.) Specialized personal vaporizer type e-cigarettes are an alternative to manually dripping juice into the atomizer.

These models feature a built-in storage bottle that holds the e-liquid and delivers it to the atomizer directly usually when the bottle is squeezed.  There is also a high-end model on the market that automatically delivers the correct amount of liquid to the atomizer.

While not as extensive as cartomizers, there is a fairly robust ecosystem of atomizer types on the market.  Aside from different threading and resistance options, there are atomizers designed explicitly for direct dripping.  One of the advances in this field is the concept of bridgeless atomizers.

Bridgeless atomizers work on the theory that the bridge is an extra step that separates the juice from the heating coil.  Juice must be absorbed through the mesh on the bridge and then delivered to the coils.  Since the bridge sits directly above the atomizer, it also represents a disruption in the flow of vapor between the coil and user.

Newer innovations coming onto the market include re-buildable atomizers which allow for the parts to be replaced by the user.  Rumors have been circulating about dual coil atomizers coming into the market in the near future, but I have been unable to locate any substantial details.

My Take On The Best Electronic Cigarette – Vision Spinner II

Okay, let’s get this out there!  I have been vaping E-Cigs for 3 years now!

I have tried all kinds of different Electronic Cigarettes, e-juice, atomizers, cartomizers, batteries, on and on. After 3 years I have learned a lot about vaping and using e-cigs.  Let me tell you why I use the Vision Spinner and how to best use it.

Vision Spinner

For starters, I use the Vision Spinner II for the main battery (about $32) and a Kanger T3S Clearomizer (about $9) to hold the e-juice.  The Spinner is a 1650 mah, variable voltage battery and will last for hours!  The Kanger T3S is a clearomizer that works better than any other I have ever used…..  You will also need a charger (about $10).

The e-juice I use is VG and I get it at a local vape shop in Carrollton, TX, “The Vape Lounge” (great people and great e-juice).  By the way, they always go out of there way to help me and make sure I am a satisfied customer!

Now, believe me when I say that I have tried a lot of different vaping paraphernalia and different combinations of vaping devices, but this particular setup works great and if you are just learning to vape or an experienced vaper like me, I would highly recommend you give it a try!  The Vision Spinner really is the “Best Electronic Cigarette”!

Okay, with all of that out of the way, let me tell you some things I have learned the hard way and secrets to successfully vape.

Best Electronic Cigarette (Vision Spinner) – Tips

First, always keep plenty of extra supplies on hand.  Always charge your battery completely and when you use it, always drain it completely.

Make sure when you are adding the juice to the clearomizer, tilt it slightly and let the juice run down the sides of the glass (or plastic).  Keep a napkin under it because there will be a little juice run out the end of it.Kanger T3S

Since the Vision Spinner II is variable voltage, I have tried the different amounts and have found that 3.6 or 3.8 volts works best for me.  If you run the voltage up too high, it will burn the e-juice and it will taste horrible!

About once a week, you will need to replace the coil on your Vision Spinner.  You will know when to replace it, because the vape starts getting less and less and you’re just not seeing the output you used to.

Also, when I fill my clearomizer, I use q-tips and clean the inside threads of any juice there.

Now, when you inhale, hold the button on the Vision Spinner II in and draw in slowly, but deeply.  Let off the button and exhale just like you did with analog cigarettes.

I hope this information is helpful to you.  Enjoy your Vision Spinner II and keep on vaping!
