My story of how I quit smoking

Now believe me, I’m not proud of it, but I smoked cigarettes for about 14 years.  Read my story of How I Quit Smoking.  You’ll be glad you did!

Over the last several years, I have tried all kinds of ways to quit smoking.  I have tried cold turkey, patches, nicorette gum and nicorette lozenges.  None of them worked for more than a day or two at the most.

Now this is not some hyped up, sales story I’m telling you!  This is a simple and honest way of telling you how I quit smoking cigarettes and how you can, too!How I Quit Smoking

It all started when my wonderful wife came home from work one day and told me about a friend at work that had quit smoking using the new electronic cigarettes.  They are called Ecigs for short.

She said she thought I should try them, since they helped her friend quit smoking (and her friend had been smoking 3 packs a day for years).  After a few days, I told her to order them and I would give them a try.

How I Quit Smoking – Finally!!

Well, I received my starter pack in 3 or 4 days and read all of the instruction manuals.  I didn’t try the electronic cigarettes for about a week  or so because I just wasn’t ready.  Finally, I charged the battery and started smoking the Ecigs.  Luckily for me, this was the start of how I quit smoking.

Immediately, I loved them!  I was just smoking them for enjoyment and pleasure.  I still smoked my regular cigarettes, too.  I had it in my my mind that I was only going to experiment with them.  I smoked both the regular cigarettes and the ecigs for about a week and decided I liked the Ecigs better.

Regular cigarettes just didn’t taste good, nor did they feel right going into my lungs after smoking the Ecigs.  The Ecigs seemed smoother, I guess since they just released a vapor, not the tar and other ingredients that the cigarettes have.  I smoked only about 4 or 5 more regular cigarettes during the next 2 weeks and each time, I could only take about 2 drags off of the regular cigarette.  Finally, I felt like this could be the way for me to give up cigarettes for good, and how I quit smoking!

That was over 11 years ago and it has been so easy!  Really, I’m telling you there is nothing to quitting smoking when using the Ecigs!

I am not stretching the truth at all….  I cannot even believe it myself…..

Now – If You Want To Quit Smoking

Please, if you want to quit smoking, try the Ecigs.  Don’t just give up and say I’m quitting smoking tomorrow.  Do like I did, so you don’t deprive yourself.  Continue to smoke both kinds of cigarettes until you decide for yourself that the electronic cigarettes are better and you will then realize that you don’t even want another regular cigarette!

Quit Smoking – Electric Cigarette

Have you heard of an Electric Cigarette, also known as an Ecig?Electric Cigarette

If you really want to quit smoking cigarettes, there is an easy way to get your nicotine, instead of going cold turkey or even using patches.

An Electric Cigarette, uses a rechargeable battery and a cartridge containing nicotine.  The battery heats up the nicotine cartridge and produces a vapor, which is inhaled into your lungs.

This vapor is then exhaled and looks like cigarette smoke.  This vapor has no smell and disappears quickly into the air.

An Electric Cigarette comes in all different shapes, sizes and prices.  The nicotine cartridges come in different strengths of nicotine.  You can get full strength, medium,light and even zero nicotine.

You can also buy E-liquid, which is used to refill your electric cigarette cartridges and use them over and over.  E-liquid is a cheaper way to use an Electronic Cigarette compared to using the cartridges.

E-liquid only costs about a third of what cartridges cost, but there is some upkeep to it.  You have to fill your own cartridges, instead of just pulling one out of a box.  What ever you do, be sure to save you cartridges in case you decide later to refill your own.

Electric Cigarette Tips & Facts:

If you’re really serious about Electric Cigarettes, you will need a car charger.  Batteries will need recharging and you may not be around AC to charge them.  A car charger is fairly inexpensive and is so handy to have.

Also, I would recommend an extra AC charger for your house.  You never know when yours might die on you and you would be in trouble, if you didn’t have a way to charge your batteries.  You can also buy a USB ecig that plugs into your computer and requires no batteries.

There are manual and automatic electric cigarettes.  I prefer the automatic, because all you have to do is just drag on it like a regular cigarette.  If using a manual one, you have to hold down a switch while dragging on ecig.  You can control how much of a hit you get, but I still like the automatic one better.

There are different strengths of cartridges and e-liquid you can buy.  The ones I use have full (18mg), medium (12 mg), light (6 mg) and even zero nicotine cartridges for those that want to vape, but don’t want the nicotine.

I would suggest you save all of you empty cartridges so they can be filled with e-liquid, should you decide to use it.

Buy the way, the cartridges come with a cap on each end, that you should leave on until you use it.  It’s just a little rubber thing that keeps the nicotine from drying out.  I would suggest you leave the cap on the open end while it’s on your electric cigarette while it’s not in use.

You also will need to clean your batteries after a few weeks of use.  If your ecig is hard to get a drag, it needs cleaning.  It’s very simple.  Just use a dry toothbrush to brush around the threads on the cartridge end of the battery.  Be sure to get a bristle in the little holes that let air flow.

I use a plastic zip lock bag to carry my extra battery and extra cartridges during the day.  It works great!

I think you will find that Quitting Smoking by using an Electronic Cigarette is the easiest way out there today!

Why Nicotine Won’t Let You Quit Smoking

Quit Smoking – Nicotine is Addicting

Do you want to know why you can’t quit smoking and give up nicotine?  It’s mainly because nicotine has such a strong hold on you. It is one of the most addictive substances the planet has to offer and it’s found naturally in tobacco.

While not illegal, it’s basically the same as cocaine or heroin, the two drugs known for their powerful features and being addictive.

When you use nicotine, your body begins to rely heavily on this, both mentally and physically. You cannot stop because you have smoking as your number one priority, before both mind and physical problems facing you at this time.  All you think about is smoking a cigarette!

This is not the smoke itself that wreaks havoc on you, but the addiction of nicotine which makes it almost impossible for you to stop smoking.  When you inhale the nicotine, which comes from the smoke, deep into your lungs it immediately goes straight into your blood stream and then moves to each section of your body to affect your internal health.

Heart and blood vessels, brain, hormones, and your metabolism all directly become affected with this nicotine. While you can find logical damage done, your ability to stop smoking reduced by nicotine, the drug has the same effect of endorphins and releases mood elevating feelings that cause you to want more.  Your body just craves more and more.

When trying to stop smoking, or even staying with the same number of cigarettes you currently smoke, your body is triggered to smoke more, telling you that you will be tolerant of your current usage. The nicotine can cause your body’s reaction more quickly than if you were given the drug intravenously.  It’s a horrible situation!

If you can stop smoking, nicotine will still be in your body up to four days after you stop using it. Your body goes into withdrawal, which are both mental and physical barriers that must be overcome.  You have to find a way to get past this.

Quit Smoking – Nicotine is Also Physically Addicting

While the physical part of addiction should be dealt with, symptoms such as sleep disorders, headaches, and dizziness, when a person stops smoking, the mental part that is noticeable when the new ex-smokers began dealing with depression, frustration, and anger that results from the nicotine withdrawal.

Because the pressure is felt in both mind and body, many smokers return back into bad habits and the nicotine will remove the symptoms you are feeling. Kind of like a sugar rush!  Dilemma of withdrawal symptoms when someone stops smoking can take several  or many days or weeks, depending on the severity of addiction.

Finally, the symptoms ease up and the  strong hold nicotine has over it’s users loosens its grip and will allow ex-smokers to kick the habit for good.

Most smokers have to try several times before they stop smoking forever, even though many do so on the first try.
